October Update: It's time to get cosy again.
Plus: The return of virtual painting classes!
It's been around 11 years now since we first came up with the idea for The Paint Club. We wanted to bring people together to have fun and get creative.
After spending long nights after work talking through our ideas, we approached one of our favourite local venues in Eton. The evenings were starting to draw in, and we could see it would be the perfect location for a cosy, creative evening.
Over the next few months, we set about planning. John came up with the painting, which we both instantly loved, equipment was purchased, and The Paint Club slowly started to come to life.
This time of year always reminds us of those first moments. Snuggling up in our tiny house, the nights getting colder and darker, and winter drawing in as we excitedly planned how The Paint Club might look.

It is our favourite time of year to host painting events. There's a different kind of buzz to the evenings. Don't get us wrong, we love summer (it was certainly a long one!) and the long evenings, but there's something special about bringing people together in the lead-up to the festive season. Venues start turning on their fairy lights, and those with fireplaces have a lovely warm glow. People arrive wrapped up against the cold, ready to settle in for a cosy evening of painting. Hopefully, we have a few more weeks before we need to dig out our scarves and gloves though!

Speaking of getting cosy, we're excited to be bringing back our virtual painting events! Some of you might remember these from the lockdown days, when we spent many evenings painting together from our own homes. John hosted the first few events from the corner of our living room. Those of you who joined us then may remember the background noises of our house rabbits and puppy zooming around in the background! They were fun to host, and we loved being able to bring people together. We had a lovely community that joined us during that time even though we couldn't be in the same room.
Our first event will be on the 9th November painting the our chestnut coloured highland cow. And then on 14th December we will be painting Christmassy Chickens!
As the evenings get darker and we start spending a little more time indoors, it feels like the perfect time to bring back our virtual events.
Whether you're joining us at one of our lovely venues or getting creative from the comfort of your own home, there's plenty to look forward to this autumn.
Until the next time, happy painting everyone!
