Brighton is where it all began

We've been running Sip and Paint classes in Brighton since 2017 and we love it here. Alice grew up in Brighton and it's John's new adopted home! With our team of amazing artists we've run hundreds of Paint Clubs across Brighton.

As well as regular paint nights in Brighton, we've also run hen parties in and around the city.

If you have somewhere in mind you'd like to run a paint and sip event, please get in touch.

Where we paint in and around Stroud

Curio Lounge, Stroud

Curio Lounge is a relaxed café bar on King Street in Stroud, right in the town centre. It has that classic Lounge feel: cosy, colourful, informal and easy to settle into. It’s a great choice for a relaxed midweek or evening paint and sip, whether you’re coming with friends, family or on your own.

Venue: Curio Lounge

Address: 9–11 King Street, Stroud, GL5 3BX

The Sub Rooms, Stroud

The Sub Rooms is one of Stroud’s best-known creative venues. Set inside a historic Georgian building, it hosts music, films, exhibitions, private events and community arts activity — so it feels like a natural home for a Paint Club evening.

It’s ideal if you want your sip and paint night to feel a little more like a proper creative outing in the heart of town.

Venue: The Sub Rooms

Address: Subscription Rooms, 3 George Street, Stroud, GL5 1AE

The King’s Head / Village Inn, Kings Stanley

We also host events in Kings Stanley, just outside Stroud. The King’s Head, now known as The Village Inn, is a characterful village pub with a long local history. It’s the only pub in the village and has been restored as a welcoming local hub.

This is a lovely option if you prefer a cosy village-pub setting for your painting night — friendly, relaxed and full of character.

Venue: The King’s Head / The Village Inn

Address: High Street, Kings Stanley, Stonehouse, GL10 3JD

What happens at a Stroud paint and sip event?

When you arrive, your painting station will be set up ready for you. You’ll have your own canvas, easel, brushes and paints, and our artist will guide the group through the painting one step at a time.

There’s no pressure to make your painting look exactly like the example. Some people follow along closely, others go completely off-piste — both are welcome. The aim is to relax, have fun and leave with something you’ve created yourself.

Most sessions last around two hours, giving you plenty of time to paint, chat, sip and enjoy the evening.

Do I need to be good at painting?

Not at all. Most people who come to our events haven’t painted for years — sometimes not since school.

Our Stroud sip and paint nights are designed for beginners, and your artist will break everything down into manageable steps. You don’t need any special skills, and you definitely don’t need to call yourself “creative” before you arrive.

You might surprise yourself!

Is a drink included?

Drinks aren’t usually included in the ticket price. The “sip” simply means you’ll be painting in a relaxed pub, bar or café setting, where you can order whatever you fancy on the night.

That might be a glass of wine, a cocktail, a soft drink, a coffee or something to eat while you paint. Some people come for the painting, some come for the social side, and some just really enjoy having a bowl of chips next to their canvas. All are valid.

Who are Stroud sip and paint nights good for?

Our events are great for:

  • relaxed nights out with friends

  • birthdays

  • date nights

  • hen parties

  • team socials

  • creative “me time”

  • anyone who wants to try something different locally

You can come as a group or on your own. The atmosphere is friendly and informal, and painting gives everyone something easy to chat about.
