What happens at a sip and paint event?
Every sip and paint event we run follows a similar format, whether it’s one of our public painting nights or a private workshop. Your current page explains that guests arrive to a space already set up with easels, brushes, paint, water and canvas, and that the workshop is led by one of your artists.
Step 1: Arrive and get settled
When you arrive, your painting space will already be set up and ready for you. You’ll have everything you need to get started, including your canvas, tabletop easel, paintbrushes, paints and water pot. One of our friendly professional artists will welcome you and help you get settled. This mirrors the current page’s setup description.
Step 2: Follow the painting step by step
Once everyone is ready, your artist will guide you through the featured painting using simple, easy-to-follow techniques. Some guests book because they love the specific artwork being taught, so it’s always worth checking the painting when you book. Your current page also notes that regular venues often alternate between scenes and animals.
Step 3: Make it your own
You can follow the painting closely or add your own creative twist along the way. Some people stick with the demonstration, while others change colours, add extra details or put their own spin on the whole thing.
Step 4: Relax into the process
Over the course of the session, most people go from feeling a little unsure to completely absorbed in the painting. As your current page says, nerves often melt away after the first few minutes and confidence builds with each brushstroke.
Step 5: Take your painting home
By the end of the event, you’ll leave with a finished piece of artwork that’s uniquely yours. One of the loveliest parts of the evening is seeing how different everyone’s painting turns out, even when you all start with the same theme. That’s a strong point already on the page and worth keeping.

Whats the vibe like?
The atmosphere at The Paint Club is relaxed, welcoming and inclusive.
Yes, many of our events take place in pubs and bars, but the experience is designed to suit all kinds of people — introverts and extroverts, couples, groups of friends and solo guests alike.
You can make the evening your own
-
🥂 Come for a fun social night out
-
🎨 Come to try something creative
-
💬 Chat with friends while you paint
-
🌿 Or switch off and quietly focus on your canvas
There’s no forced interaction and no awkward group participation. If you want to catch up with friends, great. If you want to zone out and enjoy painting for a couple of hours, that’s absolutely fine too.
In colder months, the atmosphere feels cosy and welcoming. In brighter months, the sessions feel lively and full of community spirit.

Do I need to be good at painting?
This is one of the most common worries people have before coming to a sip and paint night. Lots of guests arrive saying they “can’t paint” or haven’t picked up a brush since school.
That’s exactly why we design our events and paintings to be beginner-friendly.
Why it works for beginners
-
👩🎨 Our artists guide you through the painting in simple stages
-
🎨 Most paintings begin with the background and build up gradually
-
✨ You can keep things simple or add more detail if you want to
-
🙌 There’s no pressure to get it “right”
The goal is not perfection. The goal is to relax, have fun and surprise yourself with what you can create.

Where’s the “sip” in sip and paint?
It’s a question we get asked a lot.
At The Paint Club, the “sip” usually comes from the venue itself. Many of our sip and paint events take place in pubs, bars and other hospitality venues, so you can order drinks and food directly there while you paint.
We don’t build a drink into the ticket price, because not everyone wants the same thing. Some people might order a glass of wine, while others would rather have a soft drink, cheesy chips or a slice of cake with their painting.
Why people love sip and paint
What makes a sip and paint night special is that it’s not just about the finished painting — it’s about how you feel while you’re doing it.
It’s a chance to slow down, focus on something creative and enjoy a different kind of night out. Everyone starts with the same theme, but every painting ends up personal. That shared experience is a big part of what makes the evening memorable.
Ready to try it for yourself?
Whether you’re planning a catch-up with friends, looking for a creative date night or simply want to try something new, our sip and paint events are designed to help you relax, have fun and leave with something you’re proud of.
