Annie is a professional artist working from her studio in Brighton. She studied mixed media fine art for six years and then worked with established sculptors to gain experience in the inductry. She started experimenting more with clay and fell in love with the material. Annie attended her first pottery course in 2018 and dedicated the rest of her career to practising with the medium and teaching others the beauty and magic of clay.
"I truly do believe that everyone is an artist and with good teaching and encouragement, people can make anything they want to. I’m teaching this four week pottery course for all levels. We will be practising slab building, coiling and pinching with guided demonstrations and help given all the way through. All materials and drinks (including firing) will be provided" - Annie Lyle

What to expect on the night.
Not sure whether you'll be able to paint? We think you'll be great!
Most people who come to The Paint Club have never painted before or at least not since school. There is absolutely no pressure to create something "perfect", it's more about taking some time for yourself or to catch up with friends and have fun.
Everyone is given a blank canvas and guided through a set painting for the evening. If you want to follow along step-by-step that's fine. Equally, if you want to ignore the instructions and create your own work of art then go for it!
Your instructor for the workshop will bring along everything you need including a canvas, apron, paints and brushes.
At the end of the night you'll have your own painting to keep and share with friends and family.
